Still relishing in the glorious check-print inspiration given to us by Clueless’ Cher, served with a side of serious sass. I picked up this colourful vintage-vibe mini dress from Missguided and absolutely love it – bodycon isn’t usually my thing but I’ll make an exception for parties and when the style is right.
The high neck v low back situation is something I’m really digging at the moment; it’s helping me transition from my hefty collection of wrap dresses and was the ideal outfit to squeeze out the last of the summer sun this weekend. Teamed with my trusty Zara catseye sunnies to throw ultimate shade (pun definitely intended) à la Cher, and retro white chunky trainers to give off that cute, funky, innocent schoolgirl look. Unfortunately it’s sold out sooo quickly but I’ve linked an alternative below.
And to highlight my extra attitude (yet another trait I share with Cher Horowitz) I have successfully managed to drag out my birthday celebrations for two whole months, a challenge I’m actually pretty proud of to say the least. In my defence it was only to ensure friends who were away in August could come – being a summer baby is the best and the worst. It was annoying in school when I was one of the last to drive / drink and people are often on holiday when I throw a party. But the weather is usually great and now we’re getting older I’m slightly grateful I’m one of the last to turn whatever age…
We were super lucky with the weather, although we swiftly moved inside when the sun started setting and in the end all BBQ food was cooked in the oven. There’s nothing quite like having all your best friends in one place for an evening of belly laughs, wild singing and crazy dancing. After all, you’re only 21 once!
