Wrap it up

Oversized shirts are a key staple to my wardrobe, but even more so in the colder months. I love how easy to style they are and also how they hide a multitude of sins! They create a super flattering silhouette and are great to chuck on with jeans or trousers when I’m stuck for what to wear. Baggy shirts are my go-to when eating / drinking out too, as I don’t have to worry about concealing my food baby after a curry or one too many beers…

SHIRT Mango (currently sold out online similar here)JEANS COSMULES ASOS | EARRINGS Mango

I ordered this incred shirt in my little Mango haul a couple of weeks ago, and am completely and utterly OBSESSED with it!! For £9.99 in the sale I feel like I’ve actually stolen it – I happily would have paid more! The quality is amazing, it’s so thick and soft and the seemingly simple design gives way to stunning detailing like the wide split sleeve cuffs and intricate stripe pattern. It satisfies my stripe craving, but differs from my usual tops as it combines a mix of horizontal and vertical lines, which I think adds a funky twist as apposed to the normal nautical vibe.

The wrap style boldly defines the shirt and the band ties the material in at the waist, drawing attention to the otherwise subtle bow and creating a fancy puffy splay at the bottom. Often I feel uncomfortable in v-necks, but the size and shape of this one is gently enhanced by the wrap over and shows a slice of my neckline that I like. It leaves just the right gap for my little zodiac necklace which provides a sparkle to the outfit.

Paired with my beloved white Cos jeans the ensemble is pulled together in a masculine shape, balanced by my dainty mules which work best with a cropped trouser like these! I also love how my hugeeee Mango face earrings (that brand is seriously on fire right now!) compliment the blue colour palette and go so well with the shirt. They are my current favourite jewellery piece and I can’t bring myself to take them off (although I have just lost the back of one which could prove annoying…).

I’m really happy with the way these pics turned out – I think with a strong ensemble and a pretty background it’s hard for me to not like some, but I couldn’t pick between most of them and that’s why there is so many!! This shirt will most definitely become a key piece in my A/W wardrobe as its effortless statement style will easily freshen up old trousers and bring them up to date.
