SWIMSUIT H&MBEACH TOWEL Primark

Two of my favourite parts about going abroad: the sea and the pool. Nothing beats relaxing on a sun lounger after a day of exploring with a good book, walking along a sandy beach or dipping toes in the pool (splashing around and being childish in my case). I’ve been packing up for our trip to Portugal tomorrow and wanted to share the pieces I’ll be taking with me, featuring my much anticipated holiday reads and this amazing beach towel from Primark!

I’ve only actually acquired one new costume this year (above) which I’d lusted over for a while! It’s a gorgeous olive colour and real value at £19.99 from H&M. I can’t wait to style an oversized white shirt over it as a beach cover up. The coconut body butter from Body Shop is my go-to; it smells incredible and leaves my skin hydrated and silky, so it’s a must to be taking it with me! My friend bought me the personalised passport cover from Aspinal London for my birthday a few years ago, and it’s remained a much treasured travel companion – it’s so classy and personal. I’m a big fan of the Trainspotting films, and although I usually like to read the book first I didn’t even realise there was one! So I’m excited to get stuck into it. I was recommended to read Lolita as well, as it’s a classic, so that’s also on my list (my suitcase is going to be weighed down with books).

BIKINI New Look (old) | MULES ASOS

This bardot-style bikini is probably my all time favourite. It’s super cute and really flattering thanks to the high waisted bottoms and bigger, double strap top – an escape from skimpier swimwear when I’m feeling a bit bloated or less body confident. Unfortunately it’s no longer in stock, but I’ve linked a funky similar one here. This is the third book I’m bringing with me, which I picked up for about 99p in a charity shop. I’m guilty for being a really judgy book shopper – I get attracted to pretty covers or intriguing blurbs, but don’t usually buy books unless I’ve heard of the story or someone recommends one (but I found this one all on my own).

SWIMSUIT Urban Outfitters (old) | HAT H&M (similar here)

This swimsuit is the only one I’ve ever really found (prior to my newest find) that is actually pretty and practical. It’s a good, strong material so there’s no fear of anything being see-through and the fit is perfect, but on top of this it’s such a gorgeous pattern and the low, crossover back adds some edge as a modern twist. This one is no longer available, but the back detailing on this ASOS version is incred. I’m a sucker for hats but don’t have a straw one, so when I spotted this dreamy number in H&M I had to get it – it’ll be great for the beach or hiding from the sun by the pool and will match my straw bag fabulously (and it actually fits my tiny head so thats a bonus).

SANDALS Birkenstock

Another old bikini that’s been coming on holiday with me for years, my sister gave this set to me ages ago and it really has stood the test of time. I think everyone should own a black bikini: it’s a classic colour and style, matches all accessories and is just easy to chuck in my suitcase because I know it will come in handy. This bikini is so old (with the label cut out) that I don’t actually know where it’s originally from, but I’m digging this Missguided scalloped version as an alternative.

I hope this helps if you’re looking for some holiday inspo! Thanks for reading.
