Hello from 2017, here’s wishing you all a happy and prosperous new year (which won’t be hard if it’s even a bit better than 2016…). I apologise for my incognito stance for the past few weeks, I’ve been making the most of the holidays and completely relaxing – which actually fills more time than you’d think (explaining my absence to weekly posts). But I’m back and full of ideas which I’ll try my best to fit around uni work.
I’ve scoured the sales to bring you my most wanted to start the year off right (fashion-wise at least) and make January a little less post-Christmas blues and a little more opportunistic.
1 – Docs. With £35 off, you can’t go wrong with these 1461 Antique Temperley shoes in a classic brown. I’ve wanted a pair of these for so long and the sales are the best time to snap them up (just add glittery socks).
2 – Leopard body bag. It’s also reversible to black – what more could you want from a bag? Compact, versatile, chic, and down to half price at Urban Outfitters.
3 – Raw hem jeans. I’ll admit I have ordered this amazing pair of jeans, because the bargain is just too good to ignore and I couldn’t not share it with you all! I’ve been looking for a perfect pair to take me into Spring and when I saw the price on these Whistles ones I knew it was fate – down from £95 to £28 (no, your eyes are not playing tricks on you).
4 – Ivy Park sports bra. If, like me, you’ve rejoined the gym and need a reason to actually go, the Topshop Ivy Park sale will motivate you, even if it’s just to flaunt your new kit. This sports bra is just £10.
5 – Sale stripes. You can never go wrong with a Breton top – fact. So add to the collection with this cute Whistles version now £35.
6 – Puffer Love. I longed for this Zara puffer in white when searching for a new jacket before the holidays, but went for a chunky coat instead (regrets). They’ve still got it in yellow though, and being feather down it’ll keep you cosy until coat season is out the window.
7 – The star top. I found this gem on Warehouse and thought it would make the perfect party piece with black jeans and heeled boots (yes, it’s still officially party season). Shiny and starry (possibly two of my favourite things) and less than half price.
8 – The palazzo pants. If you’re a regular reader you’ll know I’m a big trouser lover (there’s no chance of a wardrobe malfunction when the wind is up, they’re comfy and they’re stylish). So, these velvet Topshop wonders fit the bill a treat. I’d wear them to work, to uni, to a party or to slob around the house in – the possibilities are endless.
VINYL OF THE MONTH: Kaiser Chiefs Stay Together. When released in October, I was sceptical. But after a couple of months it’s safe to say the album has grown on me and now I’m a fan of the chilled vibes it radiates. ‘Sunday Morning’ is by far my favourite track. Buy the album here.
I hope 2017 brings you everything you wish for – stayed tuned for next months Lust List.
