Lust List: December

With less than a week till Santa comes our way, I’ve compiled my last minute list in case the big man has any extra room left in his sleigh… It includes more party gear (because we can definitely drag the party season out until at least February) and inspirations for the New Year.

– Street Art Posters. Inspired by our recent trip to London and exploring We Built This City an edgy store in Carnaby, I have decided that when I have my own home it will be full of cool art like this. Unfortunately they don’t have an online shop just yet, but when they do I know where the next instalment of my student loan will be going! (Amy Winehouse canvas available from Art.co.uk).

2 – Pleated midi skirts. I’m a fan of the shiny ones, yes, but this black velvet version supplies a more subtle, dark nod to the trend. Find this one at Zara.

3 – The classic belt. Considering I have only one threadbare belt (the same one has been hanging on since about 2013) I think it’s time for an update. This Fossil belt is simple and classy – like every belt should be.

4 – Red jumpers. I think it’s official I have a slight jumper obsession. But, alas, I don’t yet have one in red. Not essential just because it’s festive, but also because red is the biggest and best statement colour there is – and having a jumper in the hue should not be overlooked. (H&M).

5 – Embroidered Heels. Topshop have the right idea with these amazing chunky heels, embellished with festive snowflakes. An easy way to jazz up a party outfit without requiring too much thought.

6 – Vinyl of the month. The 1975 have been up there in my top 5 bands since I first saw them at Reading in 2014, and despite initial worries, their newest album I like it when you sleep for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it 100 percent lives up to the first one (although ‘Robbers’ will always be my fave). It’s such a pure and lyrically beautiful album, recreating that unique trait that the 1975 had in their debut of making hits that you can dance and sing your heart out to, interspersed with quieter, emotive ballads. It’s an album I keep going back to time and time again, and sometimes will just have on repeat for days. The songs never gets old – ‘Somebody Else’ and ‘Change of Heart’ are incredible.

7 – The blanket. It’s cold and it’s Christmas, and one thing that always makes me happy is a new blanket (you can never have too many). They cosy up any room and there’s nothing better to snuggle up on the sofa with after a festive night out. Crate & Barrel’s throw makes me want a hangover simply to have an excuse to wrap myself in it all day long.

8 – Blue jeans. Black skinnies, I’m done with you. It’s all about the faded blues again. I only really buy jeans from Topshop because I know exactly what size fits best and they’re always really good quality for price (despite the inevitable fading).

Until next month,

Peace x
