ESPADRILLES Just Fab
JEANS ASOS

NECKLACE Jools
SPORTS BRA Calvin Klein

In one of my recent posts I said I was after a pair of lace up espadrilles, and here I have them! At seven quid from Just Fab it was hard to resist these little black beauties.

I try to avoid getting stuck in the habit of wearing jeans too often as I find them so limiting and boring (in my wardrobe they’re usually reserved for work and chill days), but I’ve recently rediscovered these old acid wash ones from ASOS that make a fresh alternative to the routine black I usually stick to. The lace-up trend is making waves right now – tops, bodysuits, shoes – and I love how such a simple addition can jazz up a basic outfit. Teamed with the jeans and a plain jumper, the dreamy espadrilles (which I now genuinely don’t want to take off) contribute to a comfy, caj look for when I feel like being pretty basic.

I’m generally an all-round nightmare when it comes to hair, which is why 90% of the time you’ll see me leaving it to do its own thing. Quite frankly this is a shame because it’s taken so long for my hair to grow, but I’m just a bit hopeless at trying out different hairstyles without looking like I’ve let my niece style it for me (although saying that she’d most probably do a better job…). Luckily, I found a willing helper to french plait it up, a look that’s low maintenance and instantly adds edge and cuteness at the same time. Now I just have to figure out how to do it myself…

I also spiced up my nails a lil’ bit, venturing out from matte black or dark colours for a bright red which looks great with blue denim. They make it feel a bit more summery too!

Thanks to Meg for helping me out with these pics (and her mum for being my hairdresser for the day).
